Most travellers should compare 5GB–10GB Total plans or a 1GB/day plan for a seven-day trip. Light use (maps, messaging, ride-hailing) sits at the lower end, regular use (social feeds, photo uploads, occasional video) in the middle, and heavy use (frequent video, video calls, hotspot for a laptop) is better served by a larger Total plan or Unlimited.

Does it include a Chinese phone number?
No

traverrsim China eSIM plans are data-only and do not include a +86 phone number. You can keep your main SIM enabled for calls and SMS, but your home carrier's roaming charges may apply.

Does the China plan cover Hong Kong and Macau?
No

The standard China plan does not include Hong Kong or Macau. A combined China + Hong Kong + Macau plan is sold separately and is listed on our all destinations page.

Is my phone eSIM compatible?

Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. Use our compatibility checker to confirm your exact model. Note that iPhone models sold in mainland China generally do not support eSIM.

What if the eSIM does not connect when I land?

Turn on the eSIM line, select it for mobile data and enable Data Roaming. If it still does not connect: toggle Airplane Mode, restart the phone, confirm the correct eSIM is set for mobile data, follow the selected plan's supported-network instructions, then contact traverrsim support.
